Rest in Peace Sir Patrick Moore


Sir Patrick Moore has died aged 89. No other info at this time, except that he 'passed away peacefully at his home'.





Sir Patrick Moore, CBE, FRS, FRAS (March 4th , 1923 December – 9th, 2012) was an English amateur astronomer who attained prominent status in astronomy as a writer, researcher, radio commentator and television presenter.


Sir Patrick presented the BBC program The Sky At Night for over 50 years, making him the longest-running host of the same television show ever. Sir Patrick presented the first edition of The Sky at Night on  April 24th , 1957. He last appeared in an episode broadcast last Monday.
