Sir Patrick Moore has died aged 89. No other info at
this time, except that he 'passed away peacefully at his home'.
Sir Patrick Moore, CBE, FRS, FRAS (March 4th ,
1923 December – 9th, 2012) was an English amateur astronomer who
attained prominent status in astronomy as a writer, researcher, radio
commentator and television presenter.
Sir Patrick presented the BBC program The Sky At Night for over 50 years,
making him the longest-running host of the same television show ever. Sir
Patrick presented the first edition of The Sky at Night on April 24th , 1957. He last
appeared in an episode broadcast last Monday.
